1. The necessity to set up a new laboratory of chemical analysis locally in Reunion island:

Regulations require high-quality analyzes in the fields of Biotechnology, the fine chemicals industry, the Environment, and the Agri-Food industry.

These analyzes are now carried out outside the territory and generate processing times with significant impacts. Why establish a presence in the region ?

2. European definition of heavy metals:

Since 2000, in European law, heavy metal has designated any compound of antimony, arsenic, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, selenium, tellurium, thallium and tin as well as these materials in metallic form, provided that they are classified as dangerous substances. A dangerous substance is a substance which has been or will be classified as dangerous by Directive 67/548/EEC or its subsequent amendments.
